Rugpjūčio 28 d. Varšuvoje vidaus reikalų ministrė Agnė Bilotaitė dalyvaus Lenkijos, Lietuvos, Latvijos ir Estijos vidaus reikalų ministrų susitikime, kuriame bus aptarta saugumo situacija regione ir galimas veiksmų mechanizmas, kuris būtų taikomas tuo atveju, jei prireiktų regioniniu lygiu visiškai uždaryti sieną su Baltarusiją. Susitikimas vyks Lenkijos vidaus reikalų ir administravimo ministro Mariusz Kamiński iniciatyva.
„Vizito tikslas – sutarti dėl vieningos reakcijos į galimas grėsmes ar provokacijas pasienyje iš Baltarusijos pusės. Taip pat turime sutarti dėl aiškių kriterijų – kokiais atvejais būtų uždaroma siena su Baltarusija, ne mažiau svarbu numatyti ir išimtis, kurias mus įpareigoja daryti tiek nacionalinė, tiek tarptautinė teisė“, – teigia ministrė A. Bilotaitė.
Lietuva jau ėmėsi priemonių saugumui sustiprinti. Uždaryti du pasienio su Baltarusija kontrolės punktai, atnaujintas Valstybės sienos apsaugos priedangos planas, pagal kurį penktadienį prasidės kariuomenės ir pasieniečių pratybos, taip pat sustiprinta šalyje esančių Baltarusijos piliečių patikra dėl grėsmių nacionaliniam saugumui.
Šiuo metu pasienyje su Baltarusija akylai budi ne tik pasieniečiai – be kariuomenės, pasitelkti ir policijos antiteroristinių operacijų rinktinės „Aras“ pareigūnai, Viešojo saugumo tarnybos specialiųjų pajėgų padaliniai.
