Žemės ūkio ministras Kęstutis Navickas susitiko su Latvijos ambasadore Lietuvai Solveiga Silkalna. Diplomatė šiose pareigose dirba nuo praeitų metų rugsėjo vidurio.
Susitikime aptarti dvišalio bendradarbiavimo žemės ūkio srityje klausimai, ambasadorė pasidžiaugė sklandžiu bendradarbiavimu, domėjosi Lietuvos žemės ūkio politikos siekiais ir tikslais, daug dėmesio skirta grūdų iš Rusijos importo ir tranzito klausimams.
Ministras K. Navickas akcentavo, kad Lietuva siekia stiprinti Lietuvos, Latvijos, Estijos bei Danijos, Švedijos ir Suomijos bendradarbiavimą 3+3 formatu bei pasidžiaugė, kad šalys palaiko bendrą poziciją Ukrainos atžvilgiu. Ypač sveikintina yra Danijos iniciatyva išreikšti bendrą 3+3 paramą Ukrainai dėl autonominės prekybos liberalizavimo priemonių bei didesnių tarifų žemės ūkio produktų importui iš Rusijos ir Baltarusijos.
Ministras taip pat pabrėžė labai teigiamai vertinantis žinią, kad Europos Tarybos vadovų išvadose numatyta nustatyti didesnius muitų tarifus rusiškiems ir baltarusiškiems maisto produktams.
Ambasadorė pažymėjo, kad praeitą savaitę Latvijoje vykusiame Lietuvos ir Latvijos tarpvyriausybinės bendradarbiavimo per sieną komisijos posėdyje be kitų klausimų buvo aptarta ir rusiškų grūdų importo įtaka Baltijos šalims.
Latvija yra pirma Lietuvos eksporto partnerė iš 157 eksporto šalių. 2023 m. žemės ūkio ir maisto produktų eksportas iš Lietuvos į Latviją siekė 858,7 mln. EUR. Importo struktūroje Latvija buvo 2 vietoje tarp 134 šalių ir importas sudarė 692,4 mln. EUR.
