Gruodžio 18 dieną NATO kontaktinės atstovybės funkcijas atliekančioje Lietuvos ambasadoje Kyjive įvyko renginių serija, skirta Ukrainos euroatlantinei integracijai. Ukrainos Ministro Pirmininko pavaduotoja europinės ir euroatlantinės integracijos klausimais Olha Stefanišyna ir NATO atstovybės Ukrainoje vadovė Karen McTear susitiko su Kyjive reziduojančiais NATO šalių ambasadoriais bei Ukrainos sektorinių institucijų, nevyriausybinių organizacijų ir žiniasklaidos atstovais.
Lietuvos ambasadorius Valdemaras Sarapinas pasveikino Ukrainą ir jos pastangas koordinavusią O. Stefanišyną su istoriniu ES tarybos sprendimu pradėti narystės ES derybas. Ambasadorius taip pat pakvietė svečius aptarti Ukrainos euroatlantinės integracijos pasiekimus prabėgus pusei metų nuo NATO viršūnių susitikimo Vilniuje. Savo ruožtu O. Stefanišyna padėkojo NATO centrinei būstinei ir atskiroms šalims sąjungininkėms už pagalbą įgyvendinant Vilniuje priimtus sprendimus. Taip pat akcentavo, kad didžiausias Vilniaus viršūnių susitikimo pasiekimas buvo tai, jog įkūrus NATO-Ukrainos tarybą visi su Ukraina susiję NATO sprendimai imti rengti dalyvaujant Ukrainai kaip lygiai sprendimų priėmėjai. Tai buvo prielaida realios Ukrainos integracijos į Aljansą pradžiai. Būtent realios gynybos ir saugumo sektoriaus reformos, sąveikumo su Aljansu didinimas ir konkretūs NATO finansuojami paramos projektai taps svarbiausiais euroatlantinės integracijos takelio darbais artėjant 2024 m. liepos 9–11 dienomis vyksiančiam NATO 75-ąjį jubiliejų žyminčiam viršūnių susitikimui Vašingtone.
