Šiandien Liuksemburge Europos Sąjungos Žemės ūkio ir žuvininkystės ministrų tarybos posėdyje Lietuva dar kartą kėlė klausimą dėl Rusijos veiksmų Baltijos jūroje ir jų poveikio ES rinkai.
Pasak žemės ūkio ministro Kęstučio Navicko, šalis agresorė nepaiso tvarumo standartų ir vienašališkai nusistatinėja žvejybos galimybes tikslinei menkių, strimelių ar šprotų žvejybai Baltijos jūroje, kai tuo metu ES žvejai vykdo griežtas šių žuvų išsaugojimo priemones. Kaip pavyzdį jis paminėjo Lietuvos laivus, kurie uždraudus Baltijos jūroje vykdyti tikslinę menkių žvejybą, 2023 m. iš viso sugavo tik 2 tonas neišvengiamos priegaudos menkės. Tuo tarpu Rusijos menkės sugavimai pernai siekė 798 tonas, o Baltijos jūroje žvejojantis jos laivynas plečiasi.
„Neramina gaunami signalai, kad Rusijos laivų sugautos žuvys patenka į ES bendrąją rinką. Dabartinėje situacijoje tai visiškai nepriimtina. Lietuva jau priėmė sprendimą ir visiškai uždraudė bet kokių rusiškos ar baltarusiškos kilmės žuvininkystės produktų, taip pat ir daugelio kitų žemės ūkio produktų, patekimą į Lietuvos rinką“, – sakė ministras K. Navickas.
Lietuvos keliamą klausimą palaikė 13 ES valstybių narių: visos 8 Baltijos jūros regiono šalys, Prancūzija, Ispanija, Nyderlandai, Graikija ir Kipras. Dauguma pasisakiusiųjų nurodė, kad derybos su šalimi agresore neįmanomos, bet ES turi užtikrinti išteklių Baltijos jūroje tvarumą.

Kol kas ES sankcijos neapima žuvininkystės produktų, nors JAV, Kanada ir Jungtinė Karalystė taiko prekybos ribojimus rusiškos kilmės žuvininkystės produktams. Komisaras nurodė laukiantis šalių narių politinių signalų dėl galimo sankcijų išplėtimo ar prekybos ribojimų taikymo ES lygiu. Šie klausimai turėtų būti aptariami ir kituose už prekybą bei ribojamąsias priemones atsakinguose ES Tarybos formatuose.
