Vidaus reikalų ministrė Agnė Bilotaitė pasirašė įsakymą dėl Kęstučio Kvietkaus Lietuvos Respublikos pilietybės netekimo.
K. Kvietkus tarnauja kitos valstybės – Rusijos Federacijos – tarnyboje, neturėdamas Lietuvos Respublikos Vyriausybės leidimo.
Tokį sprendimą ministrė A. Bilotaitė priėmė, vadovaudamasi Lietuvos Respublikos pilietybės įstatymu ir atsižvelgdama į Migracijos departamento teikimą bei kitų atsakingų valstybės institucijų pateiktą informaciją.
LR pilietybės įstatymo 24 straipsnio 4 punkte nustatyta, kad Lietuvos Respublikos pilietybės netenkama, jeigu Lietuvos Respublikos pilietis tarnauja kitos valstybės tarnyboje neturėdamas Lietuvos Respublikos Vyriausybės leidimo. Lietuvos Respublikos Vyriausybės leidimo tarnauti Rusijos Federacijos tarnyboje K. Kvietkus nėra gavęs.
Sprendimas dėl LR pilietybės netekimo tokiu atveju gali būti priimamas, nepaisant to, kad asmuo gali likti asmeniu be pilietybės.
