Lapkričio 27 dieną užsienio reikalų viceministrė Jovita Neliupšienė dalyvavo Europos Sąjungos (ES) Užsienio reikalų taryboje prekybos klausimais, kurioje buvo aptartas ES ir JAV bendradarbiavimas prekybos srityje, pasirengimas Pasaulio prekybos organizacijos (PPO) 13-ajai ministrų konferencijai, šiuo metu vykstančios ES derybos dėl laisvosios prekybos susitarimų ir prekybinių sankcijų Rusijai įgyvendinimas.
„ES ir JAV bendradarbiavimas turi būti dar efektyvesnis, nes dabartinių geopolitinių iššūkių kontekste svarbu vienyti jėgas stiprinant ekonominį saugumą ir telkiant paramą Ukrainai“, – sakė viceministrė. Kaip sėkmingus bendradarbiavimo pavyzdžius viceministrė nurodė pažangą, pasiektą derybose dėl Svarbiausiųjų žaliavų susitarimo ir bendradarbiavimą dėl sankcijų Rusijai.
Rengiantis 13-jai Pasaulio prekybos organizacijos (PPO) ministrų konferencijai, kuri vyks 2024 m. vasario mėn. Abu Dabyje, Jungtiniuose Arabų Emyratuose, ministrai aptarė galimus jos rezultatus.
„Lietuva PPO mato kaip tarptautinėmis taisyklėmis grįstos prekybos sistemos garantą, todėl ambicinga PPO reforma yra prioritetinis šios ministrų konferencijos klausimas. Jos siekiant, būtina atkurti visavertį PPO ginčų sistemos veikimą ir stiprinti kovą su nesąžiningomis prekybos praktikomis“, – teigė J. Neliupšienė.
Darbo pietų metu ministrai aptarė šiuo metu vykstančias dvišales derybas dėl laisvosios prekybos sutarčių ir prekybinių sankcijų Rusijai taikymą. Viceministrė J. Neliupšienė pasisakė už vieningą ES požiūrį į sankcijų Rusijai taikymą, taip sumažinant galimybių jas apeiti, ir detaliau pristatė jau taikomas Lietuvos papildomas kontrolės priemones. Viceministrė taip pat pabrėžė, kad ES laisvosios prekybos susitarimų tinklo plėtra yra svarbi siekiant kurti tvarias prekybos grandines ir didinat ES ekonominį saugumą.
