ES fondų investicijų programos tarpinės institucijos funkcijas ir koordinuodama bendruomenės inicijuotos vietos plėtros iniciatyvas, kartu su Centrine projektų valdymo agentūra organizavo mokymus, skirtus miestų vietos veiklos grupėms vietos plėtros strategijų rengimo, vertinimo ir atrankos klausimais.
Gausus dalyvių skaičius – Vilniuje, Kaune ir Palangoje vykusiuose mokymuose dalyvavo arti šimto vietos veiklos grupių atstovų – parodė didžiulį miesto bendruomenių susidomėjimą ir norą per vietos plėtros strategijas spręsti vietos bendruomenėms aktualias gyventojų skurdo ir atskirties problemas, taip pat skatinti bendruomenėse socialinį verslą, padedantį vietoje spręsti pažeidžiamų grupių atskirties klausimus.
Mokymų metu diskutuota apie vietos veiklos grupių veiklos skaidrumo didinimo būtinybę. Pasak Arnoldo Abramavičiaus, vidaus reikalų viceministro, Vidaus reikalų ministerija, pasitelkdama 2014-2020 m. ES finansavimo laikotarpio patirtį, atsižvelgdama į STT 2023 m. atliktos korupcijos rizikos analizę miestų vietos veiklos grupių veiklos ir jos priežiūros srityse, 2021-2027 m. ES finansavimo laikotarpiu skiria ypatingą dėmesį miestų vietos veiklos grupių teisinio reguliavimo tobulinimui. „Siekiame šalinti sąlygas korupcijai miestų vietos veiklos grupių veikloje atsirasti ir plisti“, sako A. Abramavičius.
