Reaguodama į situaciją regione, Žemės ūkio ministerija imasi griežtinti iš Rusijos bei kitų padidintos rizikos šalių įvežamų grūdų kontrolę. Sugriežtintos priemonės bus taikomos tiek į Lietuvą importuojamai, tiek tranzitu per Klaipėdos uostą išvežamai produkcijai.
Įsigaliojus teisės aktų pakeitimams, bus stabdomi ir tikrinami visi iš padidintos rizikos šalių vežami maistui bei pašarams skirti grūdai ir jų produktai. Į padidintos rizikos šalių sąrašą yra įtrauktos Rusija, Baltarusija, Moldovos vyriausybės nekontroliuojama Padniestrė, Rusijos aneksuotas Krymas ir kitos Ukrainos vyriausybės nekontroliuojamos Ukrainos teritorijos, Sakartvelo vyriausybės nekontroliuojamos Abchazija ir Pietų Osetija.
Bus tikrinamas kiekvienas įvežamos produkcijos vagonas ar transporto priemonė. Produkcija bus tiriama dėl pesticidų likučių, mikotoksinų, metalų (švino, kadmio), taip pat bus atliekami tyrimai produkcijos kilmei nustatyti.
Atitinkamus kontrolės pokyčius numatantis žemės ūkio ministro Kęstučio Navicko įsakymas, kuriuo keičiamos Valstybinės pašarų priežiūros taisyklės, bus pasirašytas baigus privalomas derinimo procedūras.
Kontrolės priemones dėl maistui skirtų grūdų nustatys ir įgyvendins Valstybinė maisto ir veterinarijos tarnyba. Ji tikrins į Lietuvą įvežamus javų (kviečių, rugių, miežių, avižų, kukurūzų, ryžių, grikių, sorų) grūdus ir galutinius javų produktus (kruopas, miltus, sėlenas, gemalus ir kt.).
