Sausio 18 dieną Davose Lietuvos užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis susitiko su Nigerijos užsienio reikalų ministru Yusufu Maitama Tuggaru.
„Vis labiau skilinėjantis pasaulis didina saugumo grėsmes visuose žemynuose, ir juos įveikti galime tik veikdami kartu“, – Pasaulio ekonomikos forumo paraštėse įvykusio susitikimo metu sakė G. Landsbergis.
Lietuvos ir Nigerijos diplomatijos vadovai aptarė tarptautinių organizacijų vaidmenį užtikrinant pagarbą demokratijai bei būtinybę stiprinti Europos šalių bendradarbiavimą su Afrikos žemynu.
„Lietuva per tris dešimtmečius padarė įspūdingą šuolį, pereidama nuo sovietinės planinės ekonomikos užkampio iki progresyvios, skaitmeninės ekonomikos šalies, priklausančios ne tik NATO ir ES, bet ir ekonomiškai labiausiai pažengusias šalis vienijančiai EBPO. Vertiname Nigerijos susidomėjimą mūsų patirtimi ir esame pasiruošę ja dalintis“, – po susitikimo pažymėjo G. Landsbergis.
Ministrai taip pat aptarė galimas naujas vis stiprėjančio dvišalio bendradarbiavimo tarp Lietuvos ir Nigerijos sritis.
2022 m. Lietuvos eksportas į Nigeriją sudarė 350 mln. EUR – trečdalį viso šalies eksporto į Afriką. Javai yra pagrindinė lietuviško eksporto prekė – kasmet eksportuojama javų už daugiau negu 200 mln. EUR. Verslo ryšiais su Nigerija suinteresuoti ne tik žemės ūkio produktų gamintojai, bet ir IRT sektorius. Lietuvos įmonė „NRD Cyber Security“ įgyvendino du projektus Nigerijos centriniame banke – vieną, skirtą finansų sektoriaus kibernetinio saugumo centrui sukurti, ir kitą, padėjusį įdiegti kibernetinio saugumo grėsmių apdorojimo sistemą.
