Po dviejų etapų konkurso Nacionalinės švietimo agentūros vadovu išrinktas doc. dr. Simonas Šabanovas. Naujas pareigas jis pradės eiti spalio pabaigoje.
„Tikiu, kad naujasis vadovas, kuriam puikiai pažįstamas ir mokyklos gyvenimas iš mokytojo pozicijos, ir politikos formuotojo darbas, gebės kūrybiškai, atsakingai atlikti šias pareigas, sutelkti geriausius švietimo ekspertus, atkurti mokytojų ir visuomenės pasitikėjimą agentūra. Svarbiausia -visada prieš akis matyti žmones, kuriems agentūra dirba, – mokytojus, mokinius, visą švietimo bendruomenę. Jų lūkesčiai yra aukščiausias prioritetas“, – sako švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministrė Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė.
Išrinktasis NŠA vadovas pabrėžia ypatingą atsakomybę tapti šios įstaigos vadovu. „Šiandien, po 16 metų, praleistų įvairiuose švietimo sistemos vaidmenyse, priimu dar vieną svarbų iššūkį. Suprantu didelius keliamus lūkesčius. Nacionalinė švietimo agentūra turi keistis, tapti atvira švietimo bendruomenei, kuri kartu kurtų šalies švietimą. Švietimo sistema pirmiausia yra žmonės – mokiniai, mokytojai, mokyklų vadovai ir specialistai, tik tai suprasdami judėsime pokyčio ir darnaus vystymosi link. To ir sieksiu, kiek leis mano įgaliojimai“, – sako doc. dr. Simonas Šabanovas.
Metų mokytojų premijos laureatas
Doc. dr.Simonas Šabanovas yra geografas, edukologas, Vilniaus universitete apsigynęs socialinių mokslų daktaro laipsnį. Naujasis NŠA vadovas studijavo Islandijoje, Ispanijoje, Suomijoje, Lietuvoje vėliau savo patirtį pritaikė rašydamas mokslinius straipsnius, geografijos vadovėlius, kurdamas inovatyvias mokymo priemones. Būdamas aktyvus švietimo bendruomenės atstovas, vedė autorinius seminarus mokytojams, rengė pilietinio ugdymo projektus, priklausė ŠMSM Bendrojo ugdymo tarybai vienijančiai švietimo ekspertus bei visuomenės organizacijos atstovus.
Doc. dr.Simonas Šabanovas dirbo Kauno Jono Jablonskio gimnazijoje (Tarptautinio bakalaureato programoje), Lietuvos sveikatos mokslų universiteto gimnazijoje, Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto Ugnės Karvelis gimnazijoje, „Šiaurės licėjuje“, leidykloje „Šviesa“, iki šiol dėsto Vilniaus universitete. Pastaraisiais metais buvo Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerijos Ugdymo departamento patarėjas, kuravo gamtos mokslų, technologijų, inžinerijos, matematikos mokslų ugdymą taikant kūrybiškumą (STEAM).
2017 metais tapo Metų mokytoju – pelnė aukščiausią mokytojų apdovanojimą už kūrybišką, inovatyvią veiklą: buvo suformavęs unikalią jaunųjų mokslininkų ugdymo sistemą, su mokiniais keliavo ne tik po Lietuvą, bet ir po JAV, Argentiną, Urugvajų, vedė išskirtines pamokas.

Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerija yra suformavusi Nacionalinei švietimo agentūros vadovui uždavinius užtikrinti efektyvią švietimo sistemos stebėseną, konsultuoti mokyklas ir teikti rekomendacijas, kaip tobulinti veiklą, plėtoti bendrojo ugdymo rezultatų skaitmeninį vertinimą, atveriant galimybes jį pritaikyti pagal įvairius mokinių mokymosi poreikius, užtikrinti skaidrų ir sklandų mokinių patikrinimų vykdymą.
NŠA vadovas taip pat atsakingas už tai, kad mokykloms būtų prieinamas naujausias skaitmeninis ugdymo turinys, paremtas ne tik tekstine, bet ir vaizdo, garso medžiaga, aukštu interaktyvumu, duomenų analize, modeliavimu, pamokų idėjomis, užduotimis.
