Lietuva ir Taivanas siekia stiprinti ir plėsti bendradarbiavimą mokslo ir technologijų srityse. Liepos 24 d. Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerijoje lankėsi Taivano mokslo institutus vienijančios „Akademija Sinica“ delegacija. Susitikimo metu aptartos glaudesnio bendradarbiavimo galimybės vykdant įvairius mokslinius, tarp jų ir vėžio, tyrimus, plėtojant tarptautines mainų programas tyrėjams ir doktorantams.
„Su Taivanu jau turime susitarimą dėl bendradarbiavimo švietimo ir mokslo srityje, kuriame įtvirtinta ir tai, kokių rezultatų tikimės iš mūsų tyrėjų, taip pat šiuo metu vystomos naujos priemonės, telkiančios tiek Lietuvos, tiek Taivano mokslinį potencialą. Be tarptautinio bendradarbiavimo proveržis mokslo srityje sunkiai įsivaizduojamas“, – sakė švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministras Gintautas Jakštas.
Pasak ministro, plėtojant šalių bendradarbiavimą svarbu ir tai, kad daugiau Lietuvos tyrėjų pasinaudotų galimybėmis išvykti į tarptautines mainų programas Taivane. Taip pat pasiūlyta, kad Lietuvoje įgyvendinant programą, skirtą padėti jauniems tyrėjams atlikti mokslinius tyrimus šalies mokslo ir studijų institucijose, jie turėtų galimybę išvykti į Taivaną ir savo tyrimus atlikti abiejose valstybėse.
Susitikimo metu Lietuvos mokslo tarybos pirmininkas Gintaras Valinčius pažymėjo, jog šiuos metus galima pavadinti Lietuvos ir Taivano mokslinio bendradarbiavimo metais.
„Užmezgėme artimus ryšius su Nacionaline mokslo ir technologijų taryba Taipėjuje, siekiame glaudžiau bendradarbiauti biomedicinos, aplinkos mokslų, lazerių fizikos ir kitose srityse. Tai puiki galimybė Lietuvos ir Taivano mokslininkams užmegzti ryšius, kurie abiem valstybėms atneš rezultatus naujomis technologijomis ir žiniomis, pritraukiant daugiau jaunų specialistų ir tyrėjų“, – sakė G. Valinčius.
Susitikime su Taivano mokslininkais taip pat dalyvavo Lietuvos Nacionalinio vėžio instituto, Valstybinio studijų fondo, Fizinių ir technologijos mokslų centro vadovai.
1928 m. įkurta „Akademija Sinica“ vienija 24 institutus ir 8 tyrimų centrus trijose tyrimų srityse: matematikos ir fizinių, gamtos, humanitarinių ir socialinių mokslų. Akademija palaiko ryšius su akademinėmis institucijomis visame pasaulyje ir yra pasirašiusi bendradarbiavimo sutartis su 57 šalimis bei 608 vietiniais ir tarptautiniais mokslinių tyrimų institutais.
Pastaraisiais metais „Akademija Sinica“ pasiekė reikšmingų rezultatų biomedicinos, biologijos, fizikos, istorijos, sinologijos ir socialinių mokslų srityse.
