Vidaus reikalų ministrė Agnė Bilotaitė Vilniuje susitiko su naujuoju Europos sienų ir pakrančių apsaugos agentūros „Frontex“ vykdomuoju direktoriumi Hans Leijtens. Susitikimo metu aptartas agentūros vaidmuo saugant Europos Sąjungos (ES) išorės sienas, Lietuvos pasiekimai stiprinant sienos apsaugą ir tebesitęsiantis migracijos spaudimas prie rytinės ES sienos.
Delegacija apsilankė Lietuvos pasienyje su Baltarusija, kur apžiūrėjo per metus įrengtą 529 km fizinį barjerą ir modernias stebėjimo sistemas – jomis jau stebima 100 proc. sienos su Baltarusija. Pasak ministrės, šios priemonės yra atsakas į antrus metus besitęsiančią Lukašenkos režimo hibridinę ataką prieš Lietuvą ir visą ES. Toliau stiprinant sienos apsaugą, šiais metais planuojama įrengti patrulio taką.
„Frontex“ vadovas H. Leijtens teigiamai įvertino Lietuvos sisteminį požiūrį į sienos apsaugą ir teigė, jog fizinis barjeras, sienos stebėjimas ir reagavimas yra būtinos prielaidos norint efektyviai saugoti išorės sieną.
„Tik kompleksinių priemonių pagalba ir bendromis pastangomis galime užkirsti kelią neteisėtai migracijai į ES. Turime reaguoti proaktyviai, taikyti prevencines priemones – sienų stebėjimą ir bendradarbiavimą su trečiosiomis šalimis. Hibridinei atakai tęsiantis, pagrindinis „Frontex“ tikslas yra padėti valstybėms narėms apsaugoti išorės sienas. Taip pat kovoti su tarptautiniu nusikalstamumu, įskaitant prekybą žmonėmis ir neteisėtą migrantų gabenimą“, – teigia vidaus reikalų ministrė.
Susitikime ministrė A. Bilotaitė pabrėžė, jog Lietuva turi aukščiausio lygio sienos apsaugos standartą, tačiau ginantis nuo hibridinių atakų būtina turėti ir teisines priemones tiek ES, tiek nacionaliniu lygiu.
Ministrė padėkojo „Frontex“ už pagalbą – iš viso per neteisėtos migracijos krizę Lietuvos pasieniečiams talkino net 722 „Frontex“ pareigūnai. Ypač svarus „Frontex“ indėlis į kilmės šalis grąžinant neteisėtus migrantus – bendromis pastangomis grąžinti 1 iš 4 neteisėtai į Lietuvą atvykusių migrantų. Lietuvoje savo misiją šiuo metu tęsia 24 „Frontex“ pareigūnai.
