Liepos 31-ąją sukaks 32-eji metai, kai 1991 m. ankstų vidurvasario rytą Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos pasienyje, Medininkų poste, per omonininkų išpuolį buvo nušauti septyni muitinės, policijos ir pasienio pareigūnai, o vienas sunkiai sužeistas.
Minėjimo renginiai prasidės liepos 30 d., šį sekmadienį 32-uoju tradiciniu estafetiniu bėgimu „Medininkai–Vilnius“ Lietuvos Respublikos vidaus reikalų ministerijos ir Muitinės departamento prie Lietuvos Respublikos finansų ministerijos pereinamajai taurei ir prizams laimėti.
Tradicinis estafetinis bėgimas Medininkai – Vilnius – tai 35 kilometrų bėgimo trasa, kurią įveikia 7 bėgikų komanda. Ši trasa simboliškai sujungia pareigūnų nužudymo vietą bei kapines, kuriose palaidoti pareigūnai.
Šiai skaudžiai sukakčiai pažymėti paskutinę liepos dieną minėjimas vyks Vilniaus Arkikatedroje, Medininkų memoriale ir Antakalnio kapinėse.
Prisiminkime ir pagerbkime žuvusius už Tėvynę!
