Gegužės 17 dieną, trečią vizito Vakarų Balkanuose dieną, užsienio reikalų viceministrė Jovita Neliupšienė Skopjėje su Šiaurės Makedonijos užsienio reikalų viceministre Fatmire Isaki aptarė Vilniuje vyksiančio NATO valstybių vadovų susitikimo prioritetus.
Abiejų šalių užsienio reikalų viceministrės taip pat kalbėjo apie dvišalius, regioninio saugumo ir ES plėtros klausimus.
J. Neliupšienė padėkojo šiais metais Europos saugumo ir bendradarbiavimo organizacijai (ESBO) pirmininkaujančios Š. Makedonijos atstovei už principingą laikyseną karą prieš Ukrainą tęsiančios Rusijos atžvilgiu.
F. Isaki pabrėžė, kad Š. Makedonijai siekiant narystės ES, jos atstovaujama šalis pilnai prisijungia prie ES Bendrosios užsienio ir saugumo politikos pozicijų, bei prie ES Maskvai įvestų sankcijų.
Viceministrė J.Neliupšienė paragino išnaudoti išaugusį ES dėmesį Vakarų Balkanų regionui ir sparčiau artėti ES link vykdant šaliai svarbiausias reformas.
Š. Makedonija yra naujausia Šiaurės Atlanto aljanso narė, prisijungusi prie NATO 2020 metais. Pernai šalis pradėjo narystės ES derybas.
