Gegužės 15 dieną užsienio reikalų viceministrė Jovita Neliupšienė Tiranoje su Albanijos užsienio reikalų viceministre Artemis Malo aptarė liepos 11-12 dienomis Vilniuje vyksiančio NATO viršūnių susitikimo prioritetus, taip pat šalies eurointegracinius klausimus.
J. Neliupšienė pažymėjo, kad artėjant Vilniaus NATO viršūnių susitikimui pirmiausia svarbu nuosekliai įgyvendinti Madride pasiektus susitarimus, įskaitant dėl Aljanso rytų flango stiprinimo.
„Kalbėdami apie Suomijos ir Švedijos prisijungimą prie NATO, Vilniuje taip pat neišvengiamai turėsime solidariai spręsti NATO ir Ukrainos santykių klausimą“, – sakė viceministrė.
J. Neliupšienė ir A. Malo pažymėjo, kad abi šalys tvirtai remia Ukrainą, o daugelis Lietuvos ir Albanijos saugumo pozicijų sutampa.
Viceministrė padėkojo A. Malo už teisingą ir tvirtą laikyseną Rusijos atžvilgiu Albanijai 2022–2023 metais esant nenuolatine JT Saugumo Tarybos nare.
Susitikime aptarta ir Albanijos Europos Sąjungos (ES) derybų eiga. J. Neliupšienė akcentavo nuoseklią Lietuvos poziciją dėl paramos nuopelnais grįstai ES plėtrai ir ragino albanų kolegas pasinaudoti Lietuvos patirtimi per ES Dvynių projektus.
Tiranoje užsienio reikalų viceministrė taip pat susitiko su ES delegacijos Albanijoje vadove Christiane Hohmann.
Gegužės 16 dieną J. Neliupšienė lankosi Juodkalnijoje, o gegužės 17 dieną – Šiaurės Makedonijoje.
Albanija yra NATO narė nuo 2009 metų.
