Gegužės 30 d. Briuselyje vykusiame ES Bendrųjų reikalų tarybos (BRT) posėdyje dalyvavo Užsienio reikalų viceministrė, Jovita Neliupšienė. Posėdyje rengtasi birželio 29-30 d. vyksiančiam Europos Vadovų Tarybos (EVT) susitikimui.
„Metas svarbiems sprendimams – ES valstybių lyderiai birželį vyksiančiame susitikime privalo nurodyti tolimesnę kryptį, kaip toliau padėsime Ukrainai, kaip stiprinsime savo gynybą, kaip mūsų ekonomika taps atsparesne išorinei įtakai“,– pabrėžė viceministrė, J. Neliupšienė,
Lietuva skatina efektyviau kovoti su jau priimtų sankcijų Rusijai ir Baltarusijai vengimu, taip pat, aktyviai dalyvauja rengiant naują – jau 11-ąjį – sankcijų Rusijai paketą. Taip pat pastebima, kad reikia ieškoti efektyvesnių teisinių sprendimų, kurie padėtų patraukti atsakomybėn Rusijos vadovybę dėl vykdomos agresijos ir nusikaltimų – tai būtų aiški žinia, kad Rusija pralaimės šį karą.
„ES ir jos narių karinė parama Ukrainai yra nepaprastai svarbi, tačiau ES turėtų aktyviau atitinkamomis priemonėmis spausti Rusiją, kad ji sustabdytų vykstančią agresiją Ukrainoje, o Rusijos vadovybę atsakyti už sukeltą agresiją bei nusikaltimus“, – minėjo J. Neliupšienė.
Lietuva, taip pat, siekia, kad artėjančio EVT susitikimo metu, ES vadovai viešai įvertintų Ukrainoje karo sąlygomis vykdomas reformas, būtinas pradėti derybas dėl šalies narystės ES, tokiu būdu paskatintų Ukrainos institucijas ir visuomenę tęsti pasirengimą ES narystei.
Pasak viceministrės, kitos numatytos EVT temos – gynyba, ekonomika ir migracija – yra tiesiogiai susijusios su ES saugumu ir atsparumu krizės atvejais. Lietuvai ypatingai svarbu, kad ES valstybės toliau didintų išlaidas gynybai, skatintų ekonominį konkurencingumą, priimtų atitinkamus veiksmus, kurie užtikrintų Europos pramonei reikalingų žaliavų tiekimą iš patikimų šalių, bei rastų teisinius sprendimus, kaip kovoti su migrantų panaudojimu grasinant ES pasienio šalims. Artėjant NATO valstybių vadovų susitikimui Vilniuje, Lietuvai, taip pat, nepaprastai svarbu skatinti ES ir NATO šalių bendradarbiavimą šalių gynybos srityse, tokiose kaip karinis mobilumas ar kritinės infrastruktūros apsauga.
EVT susitikimo metu planuojama ES vadovų strateginė diskusija aptarti Kiniją, kuri vykstant karui Ukrainoje, naudojasi galimybe toliau destabilizuoti pasaulinę tvarką, skaldyti demokratinių šalių vienybę ir plėsti ekonominę įtaką. Lietuvos nuomone, privalome atitinkamai vertinti Kinijos keliamas grėsmes bei mažinti ekonominę priklausomybę, o esant reikalui visiškai nutraukti bendradarbiavimą strateginiuose sektoriuose.
BRT posėdžio metu aptarta teisinės valstybės padėtis Lenkijoje ir Vengrijoje. Taip pat, įvyko neformali ministrų vakarienė, kurioje kartu su Vokietijos ir Prancūzijos ekspertais, aptartas ES institucinių reformų poreikis ir plėtra.
