Su žemės ūkio viceministrais Vytautu Abukausku ir Donatu Dudučiu susitikę Maltos Žemės ūkio, žuvininkystės ir gyvūnų teisių ministerijos atstovai domėjosi žuvininkystės ir gyvūnų gerovės klausimais.
Parlamentinė sekretorė Dr. Alicia Bugeja Said, atsakinga už žuvininkystę, žemės ūkį ir gyvūnų gerovę, ir ministerijos Sekretoriato vadovas Reuben Montebello domėjosi Lietuvos žvejams skirtomis nacionalinėmis schemomis, žvejybos tvarumo politika, mėgėjų žvejybos priemonėmis, akvakultūra. Taip pat – kaip mūsų šalyje kontroliuojama beglobių gyvūnų populiacija, gyvūnų prieglaudų, nevyriausybinių organizacijų bendradarbiavimu su valdžia.
Žemės ūkio viceministras D. Dudutis pristatė svečiams informaciją apie Lietuvos žuvininkystės sektorių, pabrėžė, kad didelis dėmesys teikiamas akvakultūrai ir tvariai jos plėtrai.
Apie pusę visos akvakultūros produkcijos Lietuvoje sudaro karpiai, pagal produkcijos vertę svarbiausios rūšys po jų yra Šiaurės Afrikos šamas, eršketas, europinis ungurys, vaivorykštinis upėtakis. 2022 metais 86 proc. visos akvakultūros produkcijos buvo parduota vidaus rinkoje. Akvakultūros produkcijos kiekis tais metais siekė 4,859 t, o vertė – apie 20 milijonų eurų.
Lietuva įgyvendina Europos jūrų reikalų, žuvininkystės ir akvakultūros fondo 2021–2027 metų (EMFAF) nacionalinę programą. Bendras Lietuvos 2021–2027 metų programos finansinis asignavimas per ateinančius šešerius metus yra 87,4 mln. eurų, iš kurių ES įnašas – 61,2 mln.
Programoje nustatyti keli akvakultūros tikslai, kuriuos reikia pasiekti iki 2030 m. Pavyzdžiui, akvakultūros produkciją numatoma padidinti 20 proc., o ekologinės akvakultūros produkciją – 39 proc.
Parlamentinė sekretorė Dr. Alicia Bugeja Said papasakojo apie Maltos žuvininkystės sektorių, kuris nėra didelis, tačiau turi didelę socialinę reikšmę ir poveikį pakrančių bendruomenėms ir mėlynajai ekonomikai. Jam būdinga mažos apimties priekrantės žvejyba. Ji taip pat paminėjo svarbią senėjimo problemą, kaip į šį sektorių siekiama pritraukti jaunąją kartą.
Diskusijoje apie gyvūnų gerovę dalyvavo ir Lietuvos Aplinkos ministerijos atstovas, nes gyvūnų augintinių gerovės politikos formavimo klausimai nuo 2023 m. sausio 1 d. perduoti šiai ministerijai.
Žemės ūkio, žuvininkystės ir gyvūnų teisių ministerijos atstovai Lietuvoje lankosi su oficialaus vizito atvykusiu Maltos Prezidentu George Vella.
