Trečiadienį Lietuvos užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis po susitikimo su naujuoju Estijos užsienio reikalų ministru Margus Tsakhna teigė, kad abi šalys nuolat ragina sąjungininkes toliau didinti tempą teikiant pagalbą Ukrainai bei siekia, kad NATO viršūnių susitikimo Vilniuje metu būtų pademonstruota apčiuopiama pažanga, Ukrainai artėjant narystės šioje organizacijoje link.
„Siekiame, kad akivaizdūs abiejų šalių interesai – NATO Rytų flango stiprinimas ir aiški žinutė, liudijanti Ukrainos ir NATO politinės partnerystės stiprėjimą, glaudžiausią įmanomą Ukrainos įtraukimą į NATO struktūras ir procesus, apčiuopiamą pažangą artėjant Ukrainos narystės šioje organizacijoje link – būtų kuo aiškiau fiksuoti NATO viršūnių susitikimo Vilniuje liepos mėnesį metu“, – teigė G. Landsbergis.
Ministras džiaugiasi, kad Estija prisijungė prie Lietuvos pasiūlymų 11–ajam sankcijų paketui.
„Sutariame dėl sankcijų Rusijai ir Baltarusijai, reikia didesnio koordinavimosi mūsų regione sankcijas įgyvendinant praktiškai. Lietuva ir Estija remia specialaus tarptautinio tribunolo už agresijos nusikaltimą įsteigimą. Lietuva ir Estija nuolat ragina sąjungininkes toliau didinti tempą teikiant pagalbą šiai šaliai. Aktyviai dalyvausime Ukrainos atstatymo procese, pasisakome už konkrečią pagalbą greitinant šalies integraciją į Europos Sąjungą“, – sakė Lietuvos diplomatijos vadovas.
G. Landsbergis susitikime taip pat pažymėjo, jog abi šalys turi pabaigti bendrus kritinės infrastruktūros projektus, užtikrinančius energetinę nepriklausomybę ir karinį bei prekybinį junglumą su kitomis NATO ir ES šalimis.
Balandžio 19 dieną, Vilniuje, savo antrojo vizito užsienyje metu, lankosi naujasis Estijos užsienio reikalų ministras Margus Tsakhna. M. Tsakhna tapo užsienio reikalų ministru balandžio 17 dieną, prisiekus naujajai šalies vyriausybei, sufomuotai kovo 5 dieną po Estijos parlamento rinkimų.
