Aštuntus metus vyksta iniciatyva „Atverk duris vasarai“ – mokyklas, bibliotekas, muziejus, kitas įstaigas kviečiame vasarą atverti duris ir suteikti vaikams galimybę prasmingai leisti atostogas, organizuoti edukacinius užsiėmimus: sporto varžybas, kūrybines dirbtuves, knygų skaitymo popietes bei kitas veiklas.
Prie iniciatyvos „Atverk duris vasarai“ gali prisidėti ir užsiregistruoti bendrojo ugdymo mokyklos, daugiafunkciai centrai, dienos centrai, neformaliojo vaikų švietimo mokyklos, muziejai, bendruomenės ir kitos įstaigos, turinčios galimybę vaikams suteikti erdvę aktyviai veiklai.
Registruojama erdvė turi būti nemokama ir saugi. Veiklos trukmę nusprendžia veiklos iniciatoriai. Norintieji dalyvauti iniciatyvoje „Atverk duris vasarai“ kviečiami užpildyti paraišką.
Praėjusią vasarą vaikams duris atvėrė 270 nemokamų erdvių.
Iniciatyvą „Atverk duris vasarai“ organizuoja Lietuvos mokinių neformaliojo švietimo centras ir Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerija.
