Balandžio 24 dieną Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerijoje apvaliojo stalo diskusija prasidėjo Europos Komisijos darbo grupės pažintinis vizitas Lietuvoje. Per tris vizito dienas darbo grupė aptars, kaip įtraukti visas suinteresuotąsias šalis į ikimokyklinio ugdymo kokybės vertinimą, siekiant įtraukiojo ir kokybiško ugdymo.
Apvaliojo stalo diskusijoje ministerijoje dalyvavo Prezidentūros, Savivaldybių asociacijos, Ikimokyklinio ugdymo vadovų asociacijos, švietimo profsąjungų, Nacionalinės švietimo agentūros atstovai, taip pat švietimo ministerijų atstovai iš 14 šalių (Bulgarijos, Kroatijos, Kipro, Čekijos, Estijos, Suomijos, Vokietijos, Islandijos, Airijos, Norvegijos, Slovakijos, Slovėnijos, Ispanijos bei Turkijos) ir 7 tarptautinių organizacijų (Alliance for Childhood, EASPD, EPSU, ETUCE, Eurydice, UNICEF, Ecorys), Porto universiteto bei Europos Komisijos. Diskusijoje akcentuotos galimybės visiems vaikams užtikrinti ugdymo prieinamumą, ugdymo kokybės klausimai, pedagogų ir kitų darbuotojų darbo sąlygos, ikimokyklinio ugdymo įvaizdžio valdymas ir kt.
Europos Komisijos darbo grupės nariai vėliau dirbs Nacionalinėje švietimo agentūroje, šalių atstovai pasidalins savo ikimokyklinio ugdymo patirtimi, lankysis Vilniaus ir Vilniaus rajono ikimokyklinio ugdymo įstaigose.
