Gegužės 5 dieną užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis susitiko su kadenciją baigiančiu Rumunijos ambasadoriumi Lietuvoje Cosmin Dinescu.
Susitikimo metu abi pusės pasidžiaugė puikiais dvišaliais santykiais, per pastaruosius keletą metų įgijusiais naujos dinamikos ir kokybės. Ministras padėkojo ambasadoriui už aktyvią veiklą plėtojant dvišalius ryšius ir ypač stiprinant bendradarbiavimą strategiškai svarbiais klausimais. „Nepaprastai džiaugiuosi, kad didžiulių iššūkių kilusių Europos ir pasaulio demokratinėms bendruomenėms bei taisyklėmis pagrįstai pasaulio tvarkai kontekste, mūsų šalys ne tik išlaikė tradiciškai labai gerą bendradarbiavimą, bet ir kokybiškai naujai atrado viena kitą strateginiame lygmenyje“, – sakė G. Landsbergis.
Aptariant tarptautines aktualijas, ministras G. Landsbergis pabrėžė, kad tebesitęsiant Rusijos agresijai prieš Ukrainą, būtina ir toliau stiprinti priešakinės gynybos potencialą NATO Rytų flange ir dvišalį bendradarbiavimą. Kartu ministras padėkojo Rumunijai už sprendimą nuo šių metų balandžio pradžios grįžti su NATO oro policijos misija į Šiaulius.
Ministras taip pat pasveikino ambasadorių C. Dinescu balandžio 24 dieną pradėjus eiti Europos Sąjungos Tarybos įsteigtos ES Partnerystės misijos Moldovos Respublikoje (EUPM Moldova) vadovo pareigas. „Sveikiname šios strategiškai svarbios misijos įsteigimą euroatlantinės integracijos kelią pasirinkusioje ir su daugeliu sudėtingų iššūkių susiduriančioje šalyje. Labai tikimės glaudaus bendradarbiavimo su misija kartu dedant visas pastangas padėti Moldovai stiprinti savo atsparumą kylančioms išorinėms ir vidinėms grėsmėms bei ryžtingai įgyvendinti reformas siekiant euroatlantinių tikslų. Esame pasiruošę padėti misijoje, vykdant savo veiklą, kuo galime“, – pabrėžė G. Landsbergis.
Susitikime ministras G. Landsbergis dar kartą išreiškė tvirtą Lietuvos paramą Rumunijos siekiams kuo greičiau prisijungti prie Šengeno erdvės ir deryboms dėl EBPO narystės.
Ambasadorius C. Dinescu Rumuniją Lietuvoje ir Latvijoje atstovavo nuo 2019 metų rugsėjo.
