Vidaus reikalų viceministras Arnoldas Abramavičius dalyvavo susitikime su Šiaurės ir Baltijos šalių vidaus reikalų ar teisingumo ministerijų atstovais Rygoje, Latvijoje. Susitikimo metu viceministras A. Abramavičius pristatė situaciją Lietuvoje ir pasirengimą NATO viršūnių susitikimui bei aptarė su kolegomis aktualius vidaus saugumo ir migracijos politikos klausimus.
Pasak viceministro A. Abramavičiaus, Lietuva jau pasirūpino aukščiausio lygio sienos apsaugos standartu, bet ginantis nuo hibridinių atakų būtina turėti ir teisines priemones ES lygmeniu.
„Bendrų pastangų su Europos Komisija dėka šiandien Lietuva turi vieną iš moderniausių išorės sienų valdymo sistemų visoje Europos Sąjungoje. Tačiau to nepakanka – A. Lukašenkos režimas ir toliau naudoja migrantus savo politiniams tikslams. Turime demonstruoti Europos vienybę ir pritaikyti ES sienų valdymo teisinę sistemą prie šiandienos realijų. Tikimės, kad ES valstybės narės ir ES institucijos pritars būtiniems pakeitimams“, – teigė vidaus reikalų viceministras A. Abramavičius.
Anot viceministro A. Abramavičaus, Lietuva pastaruoju metu reaguoja nacionalinėmis priemonėmis į dirbtinai sukurtą Baltarusijos režimo migracijos spaudimą.
Seime priimate Valstybės sienos ir jos apsaugos įstatymo pakeitimo projekte yra įtvirtinta galimybė valstybės lygio ekstremaliosios situacijos metu neįleisti į Lietuvos Respublikos teritoriją užsieniečių, kurie pažeidžia valstybės sienos kirtimo tvarką. Įstatymo nuostata netaikoma automatiškai, o tik paskelbus ekstremaliąją situaciją ir tik esant Vyriausybės sprendimui dėl jos taikymo būtinybės, kuris priimamas visapusiškai įvertinus situaciją. Siekiant užtikrinti žmogaus teises, įstatymo projekte numatytas individualus užsieniečių, kertančių valstybės sieną, pagalbos poreikio įvertinimas ir pagalbos suteikimas.
Šiaurės ir Baltijos šalių atstovai išklausė Latvijos Valstybės saugumo tarnybos vadovo pranešimo ir aptarė saugumo grėsmes bei taikomas rizikų valdymo priemones Rusijos sukelto karo Ukrainoje kontekste.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said „You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
