„Per pastaruosius kelis metus sporto srityje priimta nemažai sprendimų, kuriuos rasti padėjo būtent bendradarbiavimas ir diskusijos su sporto bendruomene. Norime ir toliau išlaikyti produktyvią sinergiją. Šios darbo grupės indėlis ir pateikti pasiūlymai bus svarbūs ilgalaikėje perspektyvoje, rengiantis jau kitoms olimpinėms žaidynėms, siekiant ilgalaikių strateginių tikslų“, – sakė švietimo, mokslo ir sporto viceministrė Aistė Zedelytė-Kaminskė.
Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerijos suburtoje darbo grupėje dirba Nacionalinės sportininkų asociacijos, Lietuvos sporto trenerių, Asmenų su negalia sporto, Lietuvos sporto federacijų sąjungos, Nacionalinės sporto federacijų asociacijos, komandinių žaidimų sporto šakų, techninių sporto šakų, Lietuvos savivaldybių sporto vadovų asociacijos, Lietuvos kurčiųjų sporto ir Lietuvos tautinio olimpinio komitetų, Nacionalinės sporto agentūros ir ministerijos atstovai.
Darbo grupė analizuoja esamą sistemą, ieškodama tinkamiausių sprendimų, nagrinėja kitų šalių patirtis ir aukšto meistriškumo sporto finansavimo modelius, svarstomi ir vertinami galimi finansavimo kriterijai.. Darbo grupės darbotvarkėje bus skiriama dėmesio ir asmenų su negalia aukšto meistriškumo sporto finansavimo sistemos tobulinimui.
