Vidaus reikalų viceministras Arnoldas Abramavičius atidarė Lietuvoje vykusią Europos Tarybos iniciatyva surengtą tarptautinę ekspertinę konferenciją, skirtą Europos Sąjungos DG REFORM projekto, siekiančio stiprinti pinigų plovimo priežiūrą ES šalyse, veikloms aptarti.
Viceministras pabrėžė glaudaus tarptautinio bendradarbiavimo būtinybę kovojant su pinigų plovimu, atkreipė dėmėsį į vis sudėtingėjančias šių nusikaltimų schemas.
„Pinigų plovimas vis dažniau naudojamas terorizmo finansavimui, sankcijų apėjimui. Šiuo metu ypač svarbu stiprinti priežiūros priemones, dalintis žinimiomis, nuolat tobulėti, pasitelkti naujus tyrimo metodus, technologijas ir užkirsti kelią nusikaltimus daranančių asmenų išradingumui”, – sakė viceministras Arnlodas Abramavičius.
Anot viceministro, šioje srityje dirbanties finansinių nusikatimų tyrėjams, ekspertams svarbu išlaikyti priežiūros kokybę ir nuoseklumą pastangose, reiklainga atsakingai laikytis ir Finansinių veiksmų darbo grupės rekomendacijų.
Europos Tarybos Ekonominių Nusikaltimų ir Bendradarbiavimo Skyriaus (ECCD) inicijuotoje projekto konfefencijoje dalyvavo 60 ekspertų iš Austrijos, Albanijos, Armėnijos, Bosnijos ir Hercegovinos, Bulgarijos, Estijos, Gruzijos, Italijos, Kosovo, Latvijos, Lietuvos, Liuksemburgo, Maltos, Moldovos, Šiaurės Makedonijos, Lenkijos, Rumunijos, Serbijos, Ispanijos, Turkijos, taip pat Europos Tarybos, Europos Komisijos, DG REFORM ir DG FISMA atstovai.
