Jūs visi esate nugalėtojai, įveikę pirmiausia save ir patikėję savo galiomis. Nuoširdžiai dėkoju sportininkams, treneriams, jūsų šeimoms ir sporto šakų federacijoms, sporto organizacijoms. Pagerbimo šventėje sportininkų vardu pasisakė olimpinė vicečempionė Dominika Banevič (Bgirl Nicka) ir paralimpinių žaidynių bronzos medalio laimėtojas Osvaldas Bareikis, trenerių – bronzą Paryžiuje iškovojusios vyrų 3×3 rinktinės vedlys Dainius Novickas, sportininkų artimųjų – baidarininkų Mindaugo ir Simono Maldonių mama Žiedūnė Maldonienė.
Sportininkams ir treneriams įteiktos Ministrės Pirmininkės ir švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministrės padėkos bei specialiai šiai šventei menininkės Akvilės MagicDustė kurta iliustracija, atspindinti Paryžiaus žaidynių simbolius ir dvasią.
Paryžiaus olimpinėse žaidynėse Lietuvai atstovavo 51 sportininkas. Sidabro medalius pelnė disko metikas Mykolas Alekna ir breiko šokėja Dominika Banevič–Bgirl Nicka. bronzos medalius iškovojo irkluotoja Viktorija Senkutė ir vyrų trijulių krepšinio rinktinė, Iš viso 21 Lietuvos sportininkas olimpinėse žaidynėse užėmė 1–8 vietas, o net 31 Lietuvai atstovavusiam sportininkui Paryžiaus žaidynės buvo pirmosios karjeros olimpinės žaidynės.
Paryžiaus paralimpinėse žaidynėse dalyvavo 9 sportininkai, kurie varžėsi keturių individualių sporto šakų varžybose. Dziudo imtynininkas Osvaldas Bareikis Lietuvai iškovojo bronzos medalį, 7 sportininkai žaidynėse užėmė 1–10 vietas.
Nuo 2019 metų valstybės finansavimas bendrai sportui išaugo nuo 42 iki 73 milijonų eurų. Aukšto meistriškumo sportas finansuotas net 2,5 karto daugiau, o sporto šakų federacijų ir negalią turinčių asmenų vadovaujančioms sporto organizacijoms kasmetinėms aukšto meistriškumo sporto programoms įgyvendinti 2019–2024 metais skirta trigubai daugiau lėšų – nuo beveik 7 mln. 2019 m. iki 20 mln. eurų šiemet.
