Nuo 2024 m. sausio 1 d. 12 proc. didėja valstybės stipendijos ir premijos už pasiektus aukšto meistriškumo sporto laimėjimus. Nuo šių metų bazinės socialinės išmokos dydis siekia 55 eurus vietoje 49 eurų. Padidinus šį dydį keičiasi ir nuo jo priklausančių išmokų dydžiai, tarp jų – valstybės stipendijos ir premijos.
Nuo šiol olimpinių, paralimpinių ar kurčiųjų žaidynių 1–4 vietos, pasaulio čempionatų, pasaulio neįgaliųjų čempionatų 1–3 vietos laimėtojams kas mėnesį mokama valstybinė stipendija didėja nuo 2 793 eur iki 3 135 eur; olimpinių, paralimpinių ar kurčiųjų žaidynių 5–8 vietos, pasaulio čempionatų, pasaulio neįgaliųjų čempionatų 4–6 vietos, Europos čempionatų, Europos žaidynių (jeigu tos sporto šakos Europos čempionatai neorganizuojami), Europos neįgaliųjų čempionatų 1–3 vietos laimėtojams valstybės stipendija ūgteli nuo 2 107 eur iki 2 365 eur. Atitinkamai stipendija didėja ir kitiems sportininkams, užėmusiems nustatytas vietas tarptautinėse varžybose.
2023 m. valstybės stipendijoms skirta daugiau nei daugiau nei 4,7 mln. eur valstybės biudžeto lėšų (iš jų 430 tūkst. eur sveikatos ir socialinio draudimo mokesčiai). Šiuo metu valstybės stipendijos mokamos 199 sportininkams.
Padidinus bazinės socialinės išmokos dydį, atitinkamai didės ir valstybės premijos sportininkams. Pavyzdžiui, šiais metais olimpinėse žaidynėse aukso medalį iškovojusiam sportininkui atitektų 167 695 eur, sidabro medalį – 83 875 eur, bronzos medalį – 62 920 eur dydžio valstybės premijos.
