Niujorke užsienio reikalų ministras G. Landsbergis susitiko su egzilyje veikiančios Mianmaro nacionalinės vienybės vyriausybės užsienio reikalų ministre Zin Mar Aung.
„Nepaisant autokratinių jėgų nuolatinių pastangų įrodyti, kad tiesa yra galios pusėje, mažų valstybių balsas taisyklėmis grįstame pasaulyje yra ir girdimas, ir svarbus. Ukrainos pergalė lems, kokiame – brutalios jėgos ar pagarbos taisyklėms – pasaulyje mes gyvensime artimiausiu metu“, – susitikimo metu sakė G. Landsbergis.
Ministras išreiškė Lietuvos paramą Mianmaro žmonių demokratijos, žmogaus teisių ir teisės viršenybės siekiams bei pakvietė ministrę Zin Mar Aung dalyvauti Demokratijų Ateities Forume Vilniuje.
Mianmaro 2020 metais demokratiškai išrinkta civilinė vyriausybė po 2021 metų vasario 1 dieną įvykusio karinio perversmo prievarta buvo nuversta.
Lietuvos diplomatijos vadovas taip pat susitiko su Butano užsienio reikalų ministru Tandi Dorji.
„Vertiname Butano palaikymą Ukrainai. Mažų šalių bendrystė, remiant Ukrainos bei kitų šalių kovą už teisę išlikti, yra labai svarbi ir Jungtinėse Tautose, ir kituose tarptautiniuose formatuose“, – susitikime su Butano kolega sakė G. Landsbergis.
Ministrai sutarė plėsti bendradarbiavimą kibernetinio saugumo, švietimo bei kitose srityse ir stiprinti dvišalius saitus.
„Lietuvos įgyvendinama ekonominės veiklos diversifikacija, elektroninių paslaugų diegimo patirtis yra įdomi ir Butanui, ir kitoms šalims regione, todėl matome daug erdvės bendradarbiavimui bei mūsų patirties perdavimui,“ – pažymėjo ministras.
Lietuvos ir Butano diplomatijos vadovai aptarė jau vykdomus Lietuvos vystomojo bendradarbiavimo projektus Butane.
