Spalio 5 dieną užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis susitikime su Vokietijos Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos federalinės žemės Ministru Pirmininku Hendriku Wüstu aptarė saugumo klausimų svarbą Vidurio ir Rytų Europoje bei Lietuvos ir Vokietijos vaidmenį remiant Ukrainos kovą prieš Rusijos agresiją.
Susitikimo metu daugiausia dėmesio skirta regiono saugumo ir gynybos, paramos Ukrainai ir bendradarbiavimo su Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos žeme temoms. Ministras padėkojo strateginei Lietuvos partnerei Vokietijai už tvirtą pastarosios partnerystę puoselėjant taisyklėmis grįstą pasaulio tvarką, o taip pat už istorinį Vokietijos sprendimą nuolatiniam buvimui dislokuoti Vokietijos brigadą Lietuvoje.
„Išgyvename istorinį momentą, kai statoma nauja „Berlyno siena“. Nuo mūsų pastangų priklauso tik tai, kur ta siena nusidrieks. Turime padaryti viską, kad Ukraina su 1991-ųjų metų sienomis liktų šioje pusėje. Nuo mūsų valios gintis priklauso pastangos stiprinti rytinį flangą – Vokietijos sprendimas nuolat dislokuoti Lietuvoje brigadą yra tikras „Zeitenwende“ pavyzdys“, – sakė G. Landsbergis.
G. Landsbergis pabrėžė, kad mūsų šalis sieks sudaryti geriausias sąlygas Vokietijos kariams ir jų šeimoms.
„Daugelyje sričių – saugumo ir užsienio politikos, ekonomikos, mokslo ir inovacijų – Vokietija yra Lietuvos partnerė iš didžiosios raidės, o Vokietijos brigados dislokacija Lietuvoje ne tik pakeis saugumo padėtį regione, bet įneš visiškai naujos dinamikos mūsų valstybių santykiuose“, – sakė diplomatijos vadovas.
Ministras sakė, jog visokeriopa Vokietijos parama Ukrainai yra labai vertinama. Karui tęsiantis, svarbiausiu tikslu ir pareiga išlieka Ukrainos palaikymas iki pergalės. Pasak G. Landsbergio, šiuo metu būtina paspartinti karinės pagalbos Ukrainai (ypač ilgojo nuotolio raketų) pristatymą.
Ministras pažymėjo, kad Vokietijos verslo iš Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos investicijos Lietuvoje rodo, jog Lietuva yra saugi bei patraukli vieta investuoti ir laukia investicijų iš Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos įmonių. Lietuva rodo interesą bendradarbiauti su Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos žeme karinės pramonės, žaliojo vandenilio, biotechnologijų ir inovatyvios inžinerinės pramonės srityse. Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos Ministras Pirmininkas domėjosi bendradarbiavimo su mūsų šalimi perspektyvomis atsinaujinančios energetikos srityje.
Hendrikas Wüstas Šiaurės Reino-Vestfalijos federalinės žemės Ministro Pirmininko pareigas eina nuo 2021 m. spalio 27 d. Tai pirmasis jo vizitas Lietuvoje.
