Lietuvos piliečiams, kuriems suteiktas Garbės donoro vardas, sukakus senatvės pensijos amžių arba netekus 60-100 proc. darbingumo, gali būti paskirta antrojo laipsnio valstybinė pensija. Lietuvos garbės donoro vardas suteikiamas žmonėms, nuo 1997 m. sausio 1 d. ne mažiau kaip 40 kartų nemokamai davusiam kraujo ar 200 kartų – plazmos ir ne mažiau kaip 10 metų aktyviai dalyvavusiam nemokamos donorystės veikloje.
Šias pensijas skiria Lietuvos Respublikos pirmojo ir antrojo laipsnių valstybinių pensijų skyrimo komisija prie Socialinės apsaugos ir darbo ministerijos.
Kad kandidatūra būtų teikiama antrojo laipsnio valstybinei pensijai skirti, garbės donorai arba jų teisėti atstovai turi kreiptis į Kraujo donorystės įstaigas, kad šios pateiktų Sveikatos apsaugos ministerijai visus reikimus dokumentus ir informaciją apie garbės donorą. Toliau Sveikatos apsaugos ministerija teiks garbės donorus Lietuvos Respublikos pirmojo ir antrojo laipsnių valstybinių pensijų skyrimo komisijai prie SADM.
Antrojo laipsnio valstybinės pensijos skiriamos nuo kito mėnesio po Komisijos sprendimo skirti šią pensiją priėmimo pirmos dienos. Paskirtą pensiją moka „Sodra“.
Antrojo laipsnio valstybinė pensija yra dviejų valstybinių pensijų bazių dydžio ir šiuo metu siekia 136,58 Eur.
Sodros duomenimis, 2023 m. gegužės mėnesį valstybines pensijas gavo 72 garbės donorai.
