Lietuvos užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis dalyvaudamas Miuncheno saugumo konferencijoje vasario 16 d. susitiko su Bulgarijos užsienio reikalų ministre Maryia Gabriel aptarė regioninio saugumo ir gynybos, pagalbos Ukrainai, taip pat ES plėtros klausimus.
Lietuvos diplomatijos vadovas pažymėjo, kad Bulgarija yra artima Lietuvai ES ir NATO partnerė Aljanso rytiniame flange ir Juodosios jūros regione, su kuria plėtojami dvišaliai santykiai ir ekonominiai ryšiai.
Ministrai pokalbyje sutarė, kad siekiant efektyvesnio NATO gynybos ir atgrasymo sprendimų įgyvendinimo regione, reikia glaudesnio šalių bendradarbiavimo bei didesnio finansavimo gynybai.
„Turime kritiškai įvertinti kylančias grėsmes, įvertinti turimas politines ir karines priemones sulaikyti potencialų agresorių bei imtis bendrų veiksmų, siekiant maksimalaus atgrasymo“, – teigė G.Landsbergis.
Jis pabrėžė poreikį toliau teikti paramą Ukrainai ir tvirtai remti Euroatlantinius Ukrainos tikslus.
Lietuvos ir Bulgarijos užsienio reikalų ministrai susitikimo metu taip pat aptarė sankcijų Rusijai įgyvendinimą, energetinės nepriklausomybės stiprinimą, kovą su propaganda ir dezinformacija bei saugumo padėtį Juodosios jūros regione.
