Birželio 1 dieną Lietuvos nepaprastasis ir įgaliotasis ambasadorius Ramūnas Davidonis įteikė skiriamuosius raštus Kuveito užsienio reikalų ministrui J. E. Šeichui Salemui Abdullai Al-Jaberui Al-Sabahui.
Ceremonijos metu ambasadorius R. Davidonis pasidžiaugė, kad kitais metais Lietuva ir Kuveitas minės diplomatinių santykių trisdešimtmetį. „Sieksime toliau kurti galimybes Kuveito ir Lietuvos dvišalio bendradarbiavimo stiprinimui, ypač skatinant abipusę prekybą ir investicijas“, – sakė ambasadorius. R. Davidonis taip pat padėkojo už principingą Kuveito poziciją dėl Rusijos agresijos prieš Ukrainą.
Susitikimo metu ambasadorius perdavė Lietuvos užsienio reikalų ministro Gabrieliaus Landsbergio kvietimą su oficialiu vizitu apsilankyti Lietuvoje.
Vizito Kuveite metu ambasadorius R. Davidonis taip pat susitiko su Kuveito užsienio reikalų viceministro pavaduotoju ekonominiams reikalams J. E. Mohammadu Yaqoubu Hayatee ir Kuveito prekybos ir pramonės rūmų generalinio direktoriaus pavaduotoju Emadu Abdullah Al Zaidu.
1994 metų balandžio 5 dieną Kuveitas pripažino atkurtą nepriklausomą Lietuvos valstybę ir užmezgė dvišalius diplomatinius santykius.
