Rugsėjo 22 dieną Užsienio reikalų ministerijoje lankėsi Rytų Europos studijų centro (RESC) direktorius Linas Kojala ir jo vadovaujamo centro atstovai, kurie susitiko su ministerijos Rytų kaimynystės politikos departamento direktoriumi Dariumi Vitkausku bei departamento darbuotojais.
Susitikimo metu Rytų Europos studijų centro atstovai pristatė savo 2022-2023 metų veiklą ir atliktus bei šiuo metu vykdomus tyrimus, apžvelgė planus 2024 metais. Pasidžiaugta RESC kartu su partneriais organizuotu ir puikių atsiliepimų sulaukusiu NATO Viešuoju forumu (anglų. k. – NATO Public Forum), surengtu šių metų liepos 11–12 dienomis Vilniaus NATO Viršūnių susitikimo paraštėse. Šia patirtimi jau dabar dalinamasi su centro partneriais JAV, 2024 metais organizuosiančiais kitą NATO Viešąjį forumą Vašingtone, JAV, kur vyks ir kitas NATO Viršūnių susitikimas.
Susitikimo metu aptarta Rusijos agresija prieš Ukrainą, padėtis Rytų kaimynystės valstybėse, Rytų partnerystės ir Europos Sąjungos plėtros politikos aktualijos, iššūkiai, su kuriais susiduria demokratinės jėgos ir pilietinė visuomenė Rusijoje ir Baltarusijoje, kova su Rusijos ir Kinijos skleidžiama dezinformacija ir šių šalių kišimasis į kitų valstybių reikalus. Visais šiais klausimais RESC turi gilią ekspertizę ir vykdo atitinkamus tyrimus, plečia savo bendradarbiavimą su užsienio partneriais. Susitikimo dalyviai patvirtino abipusį interesą toliau bendradarbiauti organizuojant bendrus renginius, vykdant atitinkamus tyrimus ir vėliau juos pristatant Lietuvos ir užsienio auditorijoms.
