Balandžio 3 dieną užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis susitiko su naujai paskirtu Europos sienų ir pakrančių apsaugos agentūros Frontex vykdomuoju direktoriumi Hans Leijtens.
Susitikimo metu buvo aptartas galimas Frontex įsitraukimas valdant neteisėtos migracijos srautus Europos Sąjungos-Baltarusijos pasienyje, Frontex vaidmuo užtikrinant tinkamą sankcijų Rusijai įgyvendinimą ir paramos Ukrainai bei jos kaimyninėms valstybėms klausimai.
Dėkodamas už svarų Frontex indėlį į ES išorės sienų apsaugą, užsienio reikalų ministras atkreipė dėmesį, kad nors situacija pasienyje kontroliuojama, hibridinė ataka ES-Baltarusijos pasienyje dar nesibaigė.
Frontex vykdomasis direktorius balandžio 3 dieną taip pat susitiko su vidaus reikalų ministre Agne Bilotaite, lankėsi Lietuvos-Baltarusijos pasienyje, kur buvo pristatyta naujoji stebėjimo sistema ir fizinis barjeras.
Tai pirmasis Hans Leijtens vizitas Lietuvoje po jo paskyrimo vykdomuoju direktoriumi 2023 metų kovo 1 dieną.
