Gegužės 3 dieną užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis pasveikino ir išlydėjo ministerijos darbuotojus, dalyvaujančius iniciatyvoje „Atgal į mokyklą“. Projekto metu diplomatai ir kiti valstybės tarnautojai skatinami nors vienai dienai tapti mokytojais, nuvykti į skirtingus Lietuvos regionus susitikti su moksleiviais ir papasakoti jiems, kas yra Europos Sąjunga (ES), kuo narystė joje svarbi ir naudinga Lietuvai, ką reiškia būti ES piliečiu ir kaip visi galime prisidėti prie bendros saugios, tvarios, inovatyvios ES kūrimo. Diplomatai taip pat dalinsis savo darbo užkulisiais, papasakos, kaip atpažinti dezinformaciją, diskutuos apie užsienio politikos aktualijas.
Šiais metais projekte užsiregistravo rekordinis skaičius – net 203 Lietuvos mokyklų iš 86 miestų ir miestelių. Projekto metu planuojama susitikti su daugiau nei 16 tūkst. moksleivių. Į mokyklas vyks ir ministras G. Landsbergis, ministerijos kanclerė, viceministrai, Ambasadorių klubo nariai. Siekiant aplankyti visas projekte panorusias dalyvauti mokyklas, Užsienio reikalų ministerija kviečia ir kitas valstybės institucijas jungtis prie šios iniciatyvos bei kartu aplankyti moksleivius.
„Atgal į mokyklą“ – visos ES mastu vykdomas projektas, kurį Lietuvoje jau 11 metus įgyvendina Užsienio reikalų ministerija. Iniciatyvos tikslas – suteikti galimybes moksleiviams ir jų mokytojams gauti žinių apie ES ir valstybių narių veikimą joje, skatinti domėjimąsi europinėmis temomis bei formuoti vertybines nuostatas, įgalinančias jaunus žmones būti aktyviais piliečiais, pasirengusiais imtis reikalingų pokyčių Lietuvoje ir ES.
