Gegužės 1 dieną Lietuvos ambasadorius Jungtinėje Karalystėje ir Omano Sultonatui Eitvydas Bajarūnas susitiko su Omano užsienio reikalų ministru Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi bei dalyvavo verslo misijoje.
Susitikimo su ministru Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi metu E. Bajarūnas padėkojo už asmeninį Omano užsienio reikalų ministro indėlį plėtojant itin draugiškus santykius su Lietuva, išsakė paramą Omano tarpininkavimo pastangoms Artimųjų Rytų regione, apsikeitė nuomonėmis apie Rusijos agresijos karą Ukrainoje, padėkojo už Omano paramą Ukrainai Jungtinių Tautų Generalinėje Asamblėjoje bei aptarė dvišalių santykių prioritetus.
„Lietuva ir Omanas gali sėkmingai plėsti dvišalį ekonominį bendradarbiavimą informacinių technologijų, gyvybės mokslų, turizmo, transporto ir kitose srityse“, – pažymėjo ambasadorius.
Gegužės 1–2 dienomis Lietuvos ambasada JK kartu su Kauno prekybos, pramonės ir amatų rūmais bei partneriais Omane organizuoja verslo misiją į Omaną. Misijoje dalyvauja 24 Lietuvos įmonės, atstovaujančios mišrius ekonominius sektorius.
Verslo misijoje taip pat dalyvavo ir Lietuvos Ekonomikos ir inovacijų ministrė Aušrinė Armonaitė bei viceministras Karolis Žemaitis. Vizito metu ministrė, viceministras ir ambasadorius E. Bajarūnas taip pat susitiko su Omano Prekybos, pramonės ir investicijų skatinimo ministerijos ministru Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef. Daugiausia dėmesio buvo skirta gyvybės mokslams, inžinerijai, Iazerių pramonei, žemės ūkio produkcijai, atsinaujinančiajai energijai ir daugeliui kitų svarbių sričių Lietuvos ir Omano bendradarbiavimui verslo srityje. Ministrė ir delegacija taip pat apsilankė įmonėje „Investuok Omane“.
