Lietuvos istorijos institutas kviečia visus norinčius prisidėti prie valstybės istorinės atminties formavimo dalyvauti direktoriaus (-ės) konkurse. Pretendentų paraiškos priimamos iki liepos 3 d. imtinai.
Pretendentai turi turėti mokslo daktaro laipsnį, vadovavimo patirties didesniam kolektyvui ir tarptautinio lygio mokslinių tyrimų ir eksperimentinės plėtros projektams arba mokslo ar studijų patirties užsienyje, mokėti anglų kalbą ir atitikti kitus reikalavimus.
Naujam vadovui keliami tikslai – formuoti instituto veiklos strategiją ir kryptis, prisidėti prie Lietuvos valstybingumo raidai svarbių mokslinių tyrimų, atspindinčių Lietuvos istoriją ir tapatybę bei stiprinančių šalies nacionalinį identitetą.
Instituto direktoriaus atlyginimas siekia daugiau kaip 5,1 tūkst. Eur neatskaičius mokesčių.
Lietuvos istorijos instituto misija – plėtojant fundamentinius ir taikomuosius tyrimus tirti lietuvių tautos, Lietuvos visuomenės, kultūros, valstybingumo raidą, kaupti istorinį paveldą, tyrimų rezultatais prisidėti prie pilietinės visuomenės kūrimo, kultūrinės tapatybės išsaugojimo.
Institutas kartu su universitetais rengia istorijos ir etnologijos tyrėjus, formuoja Lietuvos istorijos ir etnologijos mokslų strategiją.
Šiuo metu institute dirba 112 darbuotojų. 2023 m. instituto biudžetinis finansavimas siekė 4,4 mln. Eur, projektinis finansavimas – 700 tūkst. Eur.
