Rugsėjo 18-22 dienomis Užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis dalyvaus Jungtinių Tautų Generalinės Asamblėjos renginiuose.
Lietuvos diplomatijos vadovas taip pat dalyvaus Niujorke vyksiančiame neformalioje ES užsienio reikalų taryboje, JAV valstybės sekretoriaus Antony J. Blinken organizuojamame Transatlantiniame ministrų susitikime ir dvišaliuose susitikimuose su kolegomis iš įvairių pasaulio regionų. Vizito programoje yra numatyti susitikimai su Jungtinių Tautų, Pasaulio ekonomikos forumo bei kitų organizacijų vadovais bei su akademinės bendruomenės atstovais.
Niujorke planuojami ministro G. Landsbergio pasisakymai renginyje dėl atsakomybės už Rusijos agresijos bei kitus nusikaltimus prieš Ukrainą, taip pat Baltarusijos opozicijos lyderės S. Tichanovskajos rengiamoje diskusijoje apie grėsmes Baltarusijos suverenitetui ir kituose renginiuose.
Jau 78 kartą rengiamoje JT Generalinės Asamblėjoje bendrųjų debatų dalyviai ieškos bendro sutarimo, kaip spręsti globalias problemas, su kuriomis susiduria šiuolaikinis pasaulis (karai ir konfliktai, tvarus vystymasis, humanitariniai iššūkiai, klimato kaita, iššūkiai globaliai ekonomikai) bei tarsis dėl JT Generalinio Sekretoriaus siūlomo Ateities pakto elementų.
Pagrindinė šių metų bendrųjų debatų tema – „Pasitikėjimo atkūrimas ir pasaulinio solidarumo atgaivinimas: Darbotvarkės iki 2030 m. ir jos darnaus vystymosi tikslų įgyvendinimo spartinimas siekiant taikos, klestėjimo, pažangos ir tvarumo visiems“.
Vizito Niujorke metu ministras G. Landsbergis, kartu su kitų šalių ministrais taip pat ketina pasirašyti sutartį dėl Biologinės įvairovės už nacionalinės jurisdikcijos ribų sutartį, kuria siekiama išsaugoti ir tvariai valdyti jūrų biologinę įvairovę už teritorinės jūros išskirtinės ekonominės zonos ribų esančiose akvatorijose.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said „You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
