Balandžio 26 dieną Prahoje vyko Lietuvos ir Čekijos politinės konsultacijos, kurių metu užsienio reikalų viceministras Egidijus Meilūnas susitiko su Čekijos užsienio reikalų ministro pavaduotoju Jiří Kozák, URM generaliniu direktoriumi Martin Povejšil, Senato užsienio reikalų, gynybos ir saugumo komiteto pirmininku Pavel Fischer, Prezidento patarėju užsienio politikai Jaroslav Zajíček, Atstovų rūmų Gynybos komiteto pirmininku Lubomír Metnar.
Susitikimų metu aptarta tolesnė parama Ukrainai, kovojančiai su brutalia Rusijos agresija, Lietuvos ir Čekijos bendradarbiavimas gynybos ir saugumo srityje, pasirengimas NATO viršūnių susitikimui Vilniuje. E. Meilūnas Čekijos vyriausybės ir parlamento atstovams padėkojo už Čekijos indėlį į Lietuvos ir viso Baltijos regiono saugumą dalyvaujant NATO sustiprintos priešakinės kovinės grupės veikloje bei oro policijos misijoje Lietuvoje.
„Lietuvos ir Čekijos partnerystė svarbi stiprinant regiono saugumą bei didinant paramą Ukrainai ir jos europinės ir euroatlantinės integracijos siekiams“, – sakė viceministras. Jis taip pat pabrėžė, kad ne tik Rusija, bet ir Kinija siekia pakeisti taisyklėmis grįstą pasaulio tvarką, todėl yra būtinas glaudus demokratinių valstybių bendradarbiavimas atremiant Kinijos keliamas grėsmes. Pokalbių metu sutarta surengti Lietuvos ir Čekijos konsultacijos Indijos ir Ramiojo vandenynų regiono klausimais.
Vizito Čekijoje metu viceministras taip pat susitiko su Čekijos lietuvių bendruomenės atstovais, su kuriais aptarė grįžimo į Lietuvą skatinimo, lituanistinio švietimo užsienyje stiprinimo ir populiarinimo klausimus, pasirengimą kitais metais vyksiančiam referendumui dėl daugybinės pilietybės.
