Vidaus reikalų ministrė Agnė Bilotaitė šiemet Šalčininkuose vykusiame Pasieniečių dienos minėjime profesinės šventės proga pasveikino daugiau kaip 3,5 tūkstančio Valstybės sienos apsaugos tarnybos (VSAT) pareigūnų, tarnautojų ir darbuotojų.
Anot ministrės, Valstybės sienos apsaugos tarnybos vaidmuo ir atsakomybė per pastaruosius metus smarkiai išaugo, nes mūsų šalies sienos apsauga tapo didesniu rūpesčiu nei kada nors anksčiau. Todėl buvo ir yra būtina dėti visas pastangas stiprinant pasirengimą.
„Šiandien esame kaip niekada stiprūs. Turime fizinį barjerą, modernias visą ES išorės sienos perimetrą 100 proc. dengiančias stebėjimo sistemas, naujausią techniką ir NATO standartus atitinkančią ginkluotę, turime susidėlioję reagavimo algoritmus. Mūsų siena – pavyzdys ES, nebūsime užklupti netikėtai“, – renginyje sakė ministrė A. Bilotaitė.
Anot ministrės A. Bilotaitės į pasienio infrastruktūros atnaujinimą pastaruoju metu iš viso investuota kiek daugiau nei 200 mln. eurų: fizinio barjero įrengimui skirta 148 mln. eurų, modernių stebėjimo sistemų diegimui – 41 mln., transporto ir technikos atnaujinimui – 16 mln., o neseniai – pasienio patrulio takui – 10 mln. lėšų.
Ministrė dėkojo pareigūnams už tai, kad šiuo permainingu mūsų valstybei laikotarpiu galime jautis saugūs, akcentavo jų ypatingai svarbią misiją ir pabrėžė, kad nors VSAT biudžetas yra išaugęs iki 108 mln. eurų, sienos apsaugai bei pasieniečių aprūpinimui bus ir toliau skiriamas prioritetinis dėmesys.
Renginio metu buvo pasveikinti ir 115 Pasieniečių mokyklos kursantų, kurie davė priesaiką Lietuvai. Jiems buvo įteikti baigimo ženklai. Šie jaunuoliai dar šią savaitę pastiprins pajėgas ir pradės tarnybą VSAT padaliniuose.
Buvo teikiami apdovanojimai ir labiausiai pasižymėjusiems VSAT pareigūnams.
Šalčininkai minėjimui buvo pasirinkti neatsitiktinai. Čia, Krakūnų kaime, lemtingomis sovietų agresijos dienomis 1991 m. saugodamas valstybės sieną žuvo pirmasis Nepriklausomos Lietuvos pasienietis Gintaras Žagunis. 2021 m. Žagunio užkarda buvo pirmoji, kuriai teko atlaikyti Baltarusijos režimo organizuotą hibridinę ataką.
Pasieniečių dienos ištakos siekia tarpukario Lietuvos laikus. Pirmąkart ši profesinė šventė paminėta 1922-aisiais.
VSAT priklauso vidaus reikalų sistemai ir kontroliuoja, kad Šengeno sutarties valstybių išorės sienos saugumas atitiktų griežčiausius reikalavimus. Lietuvos, Šengeno erdvės narės, pasieniečių pagrindinė misija – saugoti valstybės sieną, garantuojant visuomenės ir valstybės saugumą, teisėtą asmenų patekimą ir laisvą judėjimą Šengeno erdvėje.
Naujausių apklausų duomenimis, Lietuvos gyventojų pasitikėjimas pasienio pareigūnais šiuo metu yra itin aukštas ir siekia 75 procentus.
