Liepos 7 d. vakare iš Baltarusijos per Medininkų pasienio kontrolės punktą maršrutiniu autobusu į Lietuvą bandė patekti 38-erių metų Pakistano pilietis.
Dokumentų kontrolės metu jis pateikė suklastotus Rumunijos vairuotojo pažymėjimą ir šios šalies asmens tapatybės kortelę. Valstybės sienos apsaugos tarnybos (VSAT) pareigūnai, kaip įprasta tokiais atvejais, surašė atsisakymą įleisti šį Pakistano pilietį į Lietuvą. Užsieniečiai analogiškomis aplinkybėmis yra grąžinami į šalį, iš kurios bando atvykti, t.y. Baltarusiją.
Baltarusijos pasieniečiams atsisakius priimti užsienietį atgal ir nereaguojant į VSAT pateiktus faktus bei argumentus, liepos 8d. nuo 13 val. nuspręsta Medininkų kontrolės punkte sustabdyti eismą abiem kryptimis. Tai padaryta dėl to, kad užsienietis būdamas prie valstybės sienos linijos, gulinėjo ant asfalto, keldamas grėsmę savo ir pravažiuojančių transporto priemonių saugumui.
Sekmadienį popiet punktas tebebuvo uždarytas Baltarusijos pareigūnams ir toliau neįsileidžiant užsieniečio.
Valstybės sienos apsaugos tarnyba rekomenduoja keliaujantiems į ir iš Baltarusijos rinktis kitus pasienio kontrolės punktus.
