Sausio 30 dieną Kyjive surengtos Lietuvos ir Ukrainos užsienio reikalų ministerijų tarpdepartamentinės politinės konsultacijos, kuriose aptartas šalių bendradarbiavimas ir pozicijos, siekiant Ukrainos pergalės prieš Rusijos agresiją, šalių agresorių atsakomybės ir tolesnio sankcionavimo, sklandžios ES ir NATO integracijos.
Rytų kaimynystės politikos direktorius Darius Vitkauskas šiuos klausimus aptarė su Ukrainos užsienio reikalų ministerijos Pirmojo teritorinio departamento direktoriumi Rostislav Ogryzko, kitų departamentų, atsakingų už Ukrainos dvišalius santykius su trečiosiomis šalimis, pareigūnais.
D. Vitkauskas pabrėžė, kad Lietuvos ir Ukrainos pozicijos labai artimos, mus sieja bendros vertybės ir Rusijos keliamų grėsmių suvokimas bei įsitikinimas, kad laisvė, demokratija ir saugumas bus užtikrinti tik kai kartu būsime NATO ir ES nariais. Lietuva yra pasirengusi nuosekliai tęsti pastangas siekiant Ukrainos pergalės bei pilnavertės narystės Euroatlantinėse organizacijose, o kartu ir šalių agresorių pasmerkimo ir izoliacijos tarptautiniuose formatuose.
