Lietuvos nuolatinis atstovas Ženevoje ambasadorius Darius Staniulis konferencijos metu akcentavo, jog Rusijos agresijos prieš Ukrainą, humanitarinės krizės Gazos ruože, gamtos stichijų bei kitų nelaimių, vykstančių visame pasaulyje, kontekste gebėjimas suteikti greitą, efektyvią ir tikslią humanitarinę pagalbą yra kritiškai svarbus.
„Lietuva, kasmet didindama humanitarinę paramą, aktyviai prisideda prie tarptautinės bendruomenės pastangų užtikrinti efektyvią ir greitą paramą nuo nelaimių nukentėjusiems žmonėms“, – teigė ambasadorius D.Staniulis.
Ekstremalių situacijų valdymo fondas užtikrina greitą ir nuspėjamą tarptautinį finansavimą nacionalinėms Raudonojo Kryžiaus ir Raudonojo Pusmėnulio draugijoms visų rūšių nelaimių atveju, kai poreikiai viršija nacionalinio lygmens išteklius.
