Tai paskaita apie atmintį, tapatybę, kultūros pažinimų esmingumą. Ją skaitys dr. Arūnas Gelūnas.
Dr. A. Gelūnas yra Lietuvos dailės muziejaus generalinis direktorius, dailininkas, filosofijos mokslų daktaras. Jis yra buvęs VDA prorektoriumi, Lietuvos Respublikos Seimo nariu, ambasadoriumi prie UNESCO, Lietuvos Respublikos kultūros ministru.
A. Gelūnas yra baigęs grafikos studijas Vilniaus dailės akademijoje, japonų tapybą (Nihonga) Tokijo menų universitete, 2001 m. apgynė filosofijos daktaro disertaciją Vytauto Didžiojo universitete. Yra surengęs grafikos ir tapybos parodų Lietuvoje, Prancūzijoje, Japonijoje ir kitose šalyse, apdovanotas prizais už grafiką ir knygos dizainą. Jis dėstė grafiką, meno teoriją ir filosofiją Lietuvos, japonų mentaliteto istoriją ir Japonijos meno istoriją aukštosiose mokyklose, paskelbė mokslinių straipsnių ir esė filosofijos, kultūrologijos ir meno teorijos temomis. Prisidėjo kuriant Lietuvos kūrybinių ir kultūrinių industrijų asociaciją, buvo pirmasis jos valdybos pirmininkas. Jam vadovaujant Kultūros ministerijai padėti Lietuvos kultūros tarybos pamatai, įkurtas Lietuvos kino centras.
2013 m. A. Gelūnui suteiktas Aalto universiteto (Suomija) garbės daktaro vardas.
Dr. A. Gelūnas kalba šešiomis kalbomis: lietuvių, rusų, anglų, prancūzų, lenkų ir japonų.
Paskaita bus skaitoma Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerijos Meilės Lukšienės salėje.
