Minint Tarptautinę antikorupcijos dieną Vidaus reikalų ministerijoje surengta diskusija „Nepriekaištinga reputacija ir vertybės. Valstybės tarnybos autoriteto užtikrinimas“.
Renginio metu Vidaus reikalų ministerijos ir jai pavaldžių įstaigų bei Teisingumo ministerijos, Specialiųjų tyrimų tarnybos ir Vyriausiosios tarnybinės etikos komisijos atstovai dalijosi įžvalgomis apie nepriekaištingos reputacijos užtikrinimo svarbą, aptarė praktines problemas, su kuriomis susiduriama siekiant užtikrinti asmenų, ketinančių eiti pareigas valstybės tarnyboje, patikimumą.
„Personalo patikimumas – ypatingai svarbus, siekiant užtikrinti korupcijai atsparią aplinką institucijose. Tai yra viso viešojo sektoriaus autoriteto bei reputacijos pagrindas, tiesiogiai susijęs ir su piliečių pasitikėjimu valstybės tarnybos sistema“, – renginyje sakė Vidaus reikalų ministerijos Korupcijos prevencijos ir vidaus tyrimų skyriaus vedėjas Vidmantas Mečkauskas.
Diskusijos metu dalintasi idėjomis ir dėl galimų teisėkūrinių iniciatyvų tobulinti viešojo sektoriaus personalo patikimumo sistemos užtikrinimą.
Tarptautinė antikorupcijos diena nuo 2004 m. kasmet gruodžio 9-ąją minima visame pasaulyje. Šią dieną siekiama atkreipti dėmesį į korupcijos keliamus iššūkius ir paskatinti valstybines institucijas, privatų sektorių bei visus gyventojus aktyviai užkirsti tam kelią.
