Užsienio reikalų ministras Gabrielius Landsbergis 2024 m. vasario 15 d. dalyvavo Miuncheno saugumo konferencijoje vykusioje diskusijoje „NATO 75-metis – ar esame pasiruošę gintis“ skirtoje aptarti Aljanso pajėgumus ir transatlantinį saugumą. G. Landsbergis atkreipė dėmesį, kad 2024 metai bus kupini nežinomybės ir besitęsiančių iššūkių, o amunicijos, ginkluotės ir politinės valios trūkumas gali sukelti nenuspėjamą scenarijų pasaulio žemėlapyje.
Ministras pažymėjo, kad 75-tojo jubiliejaus sulaukęs NATO vienija daugiau narių, bet į gynybą investuoja mažiau nei praeityje. „Turime užtikrinti, kad NATO gynyba ir atgrasymas būtų grindžiamas realiai didėjančiais pajėgumais, didinti Europos atsakomybę už transatlantinį saugumą, siekti kuo greitesnio Ukrainos pakvietimo į Aljansą ir ženkliai daugiau lėšų skirti savo gynybai“, – pabrėžė ministras kalbėdamas apie dabartinę saugumo situaciją.
Diskusijoje, kurią atidarė Miuncheno saugumo konferencijos pirmininkas ambasadorius Christoph Heusgen, taip pat dalyvavo NATO vyriausiasis sąjungininkų pajėgų vadas Europoje generolas Christopher G. Cavoli ir Vyriausiasis įgaliotinis Bosnijai ir Hercegovinai Christian Schmidt.
