Taip pat įsigalios papildomi pokyčiai I tipo cukriniu diabetu sergantiems pacientams – jiems bus galima išrašyti papildomas kompensuojamąsias MPP, skirtas gliukozės kiekiui kraujyje matuoti, jei paaiškės, kad turimos priemonės netinka dėl medicininių priežasčių. Sveikatos apsaugos ministerija inicijavo pokyčius atsižvelgdama į pacientų poreikius.
„Pasitaiko situacijų, kad pacientai, įsigiję vieną ar kitą medicinos pagalbos priemonę, ją netikėtai praranda dėl gaisrų, vagysčių ar pan. Naują MPP tekdavo įsigyti savo lėšomis. Nuo šiol, esant tokioms situacijoms, gydytojas galės išrašyti naują kompensuojamąjį receptą.

- kai pacientas kompensuojamųjų MPP negali vartoti dėl medicininių priežasčių (nustatytų Kompensuojamųjų medicinos pagalbos priemonių C sąrašo (toliau – C sąrašas) kompensavimo sąlygose);
- kai pacientas jas prarado dėl pagrįstų priežasčių, kaip kad kitų asmenų neteisėta veika, stichinė nelaimė, gaisras, eismo įvykis ar kita.
Asmens sveikatos priežiūros specialistas, pakartotinai išrašydamas kompensuojamąsias MPP, atitinkamai elektroniniame (farmacijos specialistui skirtame pastabų lauke) arba popieriniame recepte turės pažymėti „Specialisto sprendimu“. Popieriniame recepte šią žymą sveikatos priežiūros specialistas turės patvirtinti parašu ir asmeniniu spaudu.
Nuo 2023 m. gegužės 1 d. taip pat įsigalioja ir C sąrašo pakeitimas, kuriuo nustatomi atvejai, kada gydytojas dėl medicininių priežasčių gali pacientams išrašyti kompensuojamąsias diagnostines juosteles gliukozei nustatyti arba kito gamintojo nuolatinio gliukozės kiekio stebėjimo sistemą, kai jiems jau yra kompensuojamos nuolatinio gliukozės kiekio stebėjimo sistemos išlaidos.
