Švietimo, mokslo ir sporto ministerija pristatė naują priemonę, kuria mokslo ir studijų institucijos bei universitetinės ligoninės bus skatinamos vykdyti taikomuosius mokslinius tyrimus ir eksperimentinę plėtrą (MTEP).
Į taikomuosius MTEP numatoma investuoti iš viso 92 mln. eurų Europos Sąjungos investicinių fondų lėšų. Iš jų 60 mln. eurų planuojama skirti taikomųjų MTEP vykdymui, o 32 mln. eurų – naujai įsikursiantiems tarptautinių kompetencijų centrams. Tai – mokslo ir studijų institucijų ar universiteto ligoninės padaliniai, turintys tarptautinį partnerį ir vykdantys taikomuosius MTEP bei siekiantys komercinti mokslo žinias.
